the Knockdoo came via his wife's family via mortages - first in 1736 by James Kewley borrowing £8 then a Wm Kewley in 1743 (sorry don't have this one) but by NSS May 1745 7 - dated 20 Dec 1743; William Kewley(Knockdoo, Kk German) sells for £38 to Wm Corkill (£22 to discharge mortgage held by sd Wm Corkill) that part of Knockdoo now held in mortgage to sd Wm Corkill; Witt John Cain x, Thos Cannel; Setting quest state 5s rent

in marriage no special note of Wm's parish is made and in mort noted of Kk German - don't forget Kk German reg defficient 1681-1695 (there are noted a few early Corkills esp around Gneeb ) - unlikely that a 25yrs old is loaning money on fields Wm is likely to be of maturer years - is there any link between this Wm Corkill and Douglas or Braddan/Ochan other than name?
