To double-check, I had "no matches" to marriages in Kinghorn, Fife between 1860 and 1870 for John McDonald (no female entered), and "no matches" between same dates for Elizabeth Wood (no male entered).

There were 10 matches in Fife (without Kinghorn) for John McDonald, but no matches when I put in Wood (and variants) as female surname.
