Hello Ewan I was by chance looking at relevant Rushen /Arbory deaths register. If you pay
to look an entry up no one checks that you don't read from page 1 .{unless of course the Registrar
or another client asked to see it. } As far as the index records go -----if you have the date of
burial & name/place it should be possible for them to look things up without "fuss". All current staff
are relatively new & quick to say "VOL" means nothing to them. I believe the page ref.from that index is almost always correct {not so they say}

Alice Foster / no 366 / page 414 died on 18th March 1923 at The Mount Cottage ,Port Erin . She came from ECCLESFIELD near Sheffield [ Yorks.] a spinster /daughter of George Foster ,a
Tile Cutter [deceased ] /// The informant was Egerton Cregeen. Am having difficulty reading my scribbled notes but I think cause of death was kidney something or other. Mary
