Are you asking me for the information on John Corkill and Margaret Kermode? We had a thread going a few months ago on this topic.

I am trying to identify the parents of John Corkill b. about 1820. He married Margaret Kermode b.10 Dec 1820 d. 1 Apr 1865 d/o Robert Kermode and Jane Kerruish.

John Corkill left IOM in 1866 with the following children: Ellinor Jane, Margaret, and John James. These three children settled in Henry and Ford counties in Illinois USA.

There were three other children of the John and Margaret:

William b. 23 Apr 1854 d. 26 Mar 1857
Mary Ann b. 6 Jul 1856 d. 13 Apr 1865
Joseph b. 24 Jan 1858 d. unk but probably before emmigration as he is not mentioned in the biographical sketch of his brother John James written in the 1880's.

It is believed that John the Elder remarried in the US while living in Ford County. Indeed this is stated in John James biographical sketch and I have found a marriage record for a John Corkill's marriage to Elizabeth Chrisman 08 Mar 1979.

The marriage record however lists parents of John as Robert Corkill and Esther Colkate and the birth location as England and the age listed would give an approx 1825 birth date. There is no other reasonable marriage record.

I have searched familysearch as has Francis I think and we didn't come up with any reasonable alternatives for the parents of John given the information that I have.

It may need to simply become a process of elimination which is why a combined file of Corkill's would be helpful.
