Re: Richard Thomas Corlett
In Response To: Re: Richard Thomas Corlett ()

Richard, I had a look for Thomas Corlett's children from his first marriage in the 1901 & 1911 censuses (I had given you 1891 before, as well as Thomas & family in 1911).

This could be your Richard CORLETT in 1901: a boarder, Single, M, 21, b.c. 1880, Stone Waller, b. Isle of Man. He was in the SANSBURY household, at Address: 27, Hope Street, Barrow In Furness, Lancashire.

In 1901 his brother Philip was aged 19, a Grocer's Carter, still at home with his father, step-mother, and half-siblings, at 126, Malew Street, Malew, Castletown.

There were several Philip Corletts around his age, but I think this is your one in 1911:
Name Relation Condition /Yrs married Se x Age Birth Year Occupation Where born:
CORLETT, Philip Head Married M 30 1881 Stone Mason Castletown IoM
CORLETT, Ellen Wife Married 1 years F 34 1877 Castletown IoM [1 child born, 1 child living]
CORLETT, Mary Daughter F 0 (4 MONTHS) 1911 Castletown IoM
RG number: RG14
Piece: 34651
Reference: RG14PN34651 RD635 SD3 ED19/2 SN65
Registration District: Isle of Man
Enumeration District: 19/2
Parish: Malew
Address: 13 Hope Street Castletown Isle of Man [3 rooms, excepting bathroom, etc.]

What a piece of luck, having his marriage just before the census, and also showing daughter Mary, whom I assume they named after Philip & Richard's mother Mary Kinvig.

BL's marriage index has: CORLETT, Philip, 25 Jun 1910, C, mal, 279, CHRISTIAN, Ellen.

In 1911 Richard Corlett was Nephew, Single, M, 31, 1880, Mason Stone, Castletown Isle of Man, with the family of Emily HENSTRIDGE, Head, Married, F, 47, 1864, Foxdale IoM, at 8 King Street, Conchan.
Four of her 5 children were born in England (two in Stratford on Avon, two just Warwickshire). It looks as though she returned to the IoM between 1903 & 1909, with her last child Richard Henry being born in Onchan in 1909. She must have been another of Thomas's sisters?
