As a first time grandfather I'm now very keen to discover my Manx heritage. I was born in Liverpool, during 1948 to Richard Thomas Corlett, born 1926 and died in Zimbabwe in 1980.
He was the only son of Richard Thomas Corlett and Ada (nee Read). Grandfather Corlett was born in Malew Street Castleton c 1887, to Thomas who died in 1917. I have no information about his mother. I do know he married twice, his first marriage issuing Richard and Philip, and his second marriage issuing John, Tom, Steve and Bessie: of these I have no information as to what happened to them, their spouses and offspring.

Grandfather Richard Corlett was, I am told, the father of the Blind Basket Weaver of Castletown a Mr Hinstridge, through his relationship with his aunt's daughter. One vital piece of information which I'd dearly love to have are any details of grandfather Corlett's wife, Ada Read. My information suggests she'd been previously married and had three daughters, I was also told her father was the either the Mayor of Burnley or Blackburn who disapproved of her relationship with Richard Corlett.

However, I've not been able to discover any record of marriage between Ada and Richard. Grandfather Richard Corlett died in 1966 and Ada in 1945 - both in Liverpool. Again, any information on these two individuals would be really appreciated.
