Gertrude Rogers was born in New York on 30 March 1898, the daughter of Harry T. Rogers (1877-1939) and Gertrude S. Raynor (abt 1878 - 1938). Harry Rogers resided in Sherburne, New York, but originally was from Eastport, Long Island, New York. Harry was the son of Harrison J. Rogers (1841-1911) and Jerusha E. Jayne (1841-1899).

Harry married Gertrude S. Raynor daughter of Hampton Raynor and Mary Hulse.
