Hello - I am searching for the parents and ancestors of Robert Craine born about 1814 in Braddan. He married Eleanor Frances Woods on 22 Oct 1833 in Kirk German.

They had seven children:
William (oldest) b. 29 Jun 1835 at family home "Kilkenny" near Douglas, Frances, John, Louise, Rebecca, Thomas, Frederick.

From the obituary of son, William Craine:

"At his temporary winter residence in Sherburne, NY, where he and Mrs. Craine had gone to be near their children, occurred the death of William Craine, in the early hours on Thursday morning, February 22, 1923.

Mr. Craine was the last surviving son of the late Robert and Eleanor Woods Craine. He was born at his parents' home, "Kilkenny," City of Douglas, Isle of Mann, British Isles on June 29, 1835, being the eldest of seven children, namely: John, Frederick, Frances, Thomas, Rebecca, and Louisa, none of whom are surviving today.

With his parents, brothers and sisters, he sailed from Liverpool for the Port of New York on the sailing vessel Yorkshire, of 1500 tons registered burden, September 1, 1850, the passage at that time taking some six weeks. Shortly after arriving in North America they settled in the southern part of Brookfield township."
