More Craine MIs please
In Response To: MI Jane Craine 1821 Braddan ()

Since Robert Craine, Eleanor nee Woods, and their children were living at Kilkenny in 1841 next door to William Craine, Elizabeth (alias Craine ?) and John 28, Jane 26, Thomas 24, Ann 22 and Eleanor 20, it seems reasonable to suggest that these baptisms from the IGI might be the correct ones for this family; the mother of the children was probably Jane Teare and she probably died in 1821:

I looked for William Craine (b circa 1780) in the 1851 census, but couldn't find him; nor could I find Elizabeth.

Donna, please would you also look for MIs for these burials ?

*********************************************
possible burial for the Elizabeth Craine of Kilkenny who was age 50 in 1841:

CRAINE, Elizabeth 57 Braddan 19 Nov 1846

so this may be her will:

CRAINE, Elizabeth 1846 Braddan E 2 0106446

************************************************
possible burials for the William Craine of Kilkenny whose age was given as 61 in the 1841 census:

CRAINE, William 66 Braddan 10 Feb 1846

CRAINE, William 68 Braddan 30 Aug 1847

CRAINE, William 71 Braddan 1 Oct 1848

***********************************************
Then 3 wills, one of which might be for William Craine of Kilkenny:

CRAIN, William 1846 Braddan A 10 0106251
CRAINE, William 1847 Braddan E 2 0106447
CRAINE, William 1847 Braddan E 2 0106447

If there are no MIs, does the burial register give any additional information ?

I found Kilkenny in the 1851 census, but there were no Craines living there. I wonder whether the siblings of Robert Craine also emigrated circa 1850, or whether some of them died, or moved elsewhere on the island.
