Hi Sue, Thanks for all the work you are doing, we are a confusing Family
To start with Thomas Edward Corkill,Babtised 18 June 1876, Page 50, No396 at St Lukes Baldwin Father Robert, Labourer of BaldwinMother Martha Gelling
Robert Corkill, Born 21 Oct 1838 at Kirk Bradden (AFN 1XG3-GCH) Father Robert Corkill, Mother Margt Quirk No details yet
Martha Gelling Born about 1845 at St Lukes (AFN 1XG3-G58) Father William Gelling (AFN 1XG3-FT7)MotherJane CaineAFN 1XG3-FVF
Married 28 Dec 1868 at Braddan
Have grave inscription of their deaths Marown Churchyard Grave F4
Inscription reads In loving memory of / Martha /beloved wife of Robert Corkill/ of Marown/ who entered into rest 1st Jan 1918 / aged 71yrs/ Also Florence Elizabeth / daughter of the above died 15 May 1909 aged 30yrs Also the above named Robert Corkill who died 25 March 1934 aged 96 yrs
They apparently had 13 Children , so far I can account for 9, but Eric Gelling of Canada sent me all 13 but some I cannot trace with my linited Knowledge as yet
I made a bad mistake with William Corkill and Margaret Quirk as when I traced their children there was a Robert born 1839 From Census1941
but this dissagrees with the IGA record of Roberts christening showing a Different Father
I am now trying to follow the Corkill/Quirk line back thru the Message board s previous postings(if Possible)
The above probably puts the previous line of research into doubt, so hope you can soothe my confused brain
Hope this has not confused you also
Thanks Rob
