I always find it very heartening when people want to learn the language, or even just how to pronounce it, which isn't easy. When I rang up about a holiday cottage in Peel the other week I was dismayed to hear the owner speak of the property opposite as 'Tee mee Kree' (Thie my Chree) more than once.
