I agree Mary, just a few phrases are enough - the ones you gave are useful. Unless you grow up bilingual or have a natural talent for languages just stick to a few basic greetings & thankyou as so few know Manx these days. I think there is only one Manx school at the moment where the pupils learn Manx daily. So much easier learning languages when you are a child. It's good that these young people are learning Manx at school to keep the language alive. I have lived in Sweden many years & can speak Swedish but 95 % of the Swedish people know I have English as my mother tongue more or less as soon as I open my mouth! The natural rhythm is different & no way would I ever achieve perfect pronunciation.
