Articles of marriage consented unto concluded and agreed
upon betwixt John Christian ^ of Ballecallow ^ & Bahey his wife for & in the
behalf of William Christian their son on ye on ptie. And John
Christian of Ballekeij & Kathrine his wife for & in ye behalf of
their Daughter Kathrine Christian [on] the other partie all of the
parish of K: Bride as followeth
ffirst it is consented unto concluded and agreed upon that
the foresaid William Christian & Kathrin Christian shall meet
together at the pish Church ^ before May next ^ and their be joyned together in holy
matrimony God and Christian people permitting the same.
Item it is agreed upon and consented unto And ye said Jon. Xtian
of Ballecallow and Bahey his wife doth give unto William Christian
their son & Kathrine yt. is to be his wife half of all ye houses, and
halfe of all their Land, at their entring into marriage, together
with halfe their teame, halfe of all their husbandry geares, and
halfe their cattle, sheep, horses, houssall goods whatsoever &
halfe the cropp of corne. The said Jon: & Bahey reserveing to
their own disposall a Chest and all ye linnin & woollen not used
in the house & not made ^ for using ^ and also a young horse and a heffer
and also halfe a dressin of Oates The said Jon. & Bahey his
wife giveing also to unto their son William & his wife halfe of
the two daymath of hay bequeathed unto him by Gilbert Lace
dureing their naturall Life and the other halfe after ye decease
of the said Jon: & Bahey, and then to run as heirship to him
& his heires for ever after Likewise Jon: & Bahey doth give
unto their son William ye other halfe of their husbandry
gears after their decease and also a blanket & the other halfe
of the servants bedclothes And for ye performance of all &
Especially the above agreement the foresaid parties doth
bind themselves in the penaltie and forfieture of fourty
pounds to be paid in the nature of all finds
In testimony, whereof we have set our names and Marks
the 13th of January Anno 1709
