I found a baptism for John Frowde, one of the witnesses to William Kneen's Feb 1841 marriage in Liverpool. (Ancestry has some actual scans of the marriage register in Liverpool, and luckily, William's marriage to Jane Rowen (as she signed it) is viewable online.)

The fact that John Frowde was born (and grew up ?) in Ballaugh points to the likelihood that we have the right Kneen farming family in John Kneen and Ann Cowin. William and John F may have been childhood playmates. In 1841, the John's Frowde parents are on the adjacent page to John Kneen, farmer at Dollough Moar.
