The reason I asked about evidence of the maiden name of William Kneen's wife, Jane, was that I wanted to rule out the possibility that Jane nee Rowan could have died soon after John's December 1841 birth, and William could have married Jane McGeary in August 1843 shortly before the birth of Thomas. But now that you've confirmed that Thomas's birth certificate gives the name of his mother as Jane Rowan, we can be absolutely sure that the William Kneen/Jane McGeary marriage was of a different couple.
