Thank you for having a go at deciphering the handwriting on the 1841 census entry for newlyweds William and Jane Kneen. The thing about finding Elizabeth Davis 60 in the index is that the name is only in the index because the transcriber decided that that particular word, Davis, is his interpretation of the weird scrawl that he had to provide a transcription for. You're probably right, though, as it's hard to make any other name out of it.
