I've spent 40 yrs or so doing IOM genealogy particularly Caines and Quayles. When we start getting back in time, it is rather a blur.
They ALL were named John, Dollin, William, even too many Adams.
Frances has done incredible work on the old Wills of Michael and Ballaugh along with that in the land records, marriage contracts,etc. We have the opportunity now to unscramble at least some of these lines--I'm hoping to see about some of the Cain(e) lines. I know John W Caine spent many yrs on his Ballaugh line but was never able to get beyond John Fillon who died 1724 and never figured out who the wife was.

I don't think we all take the time to recognize the fabulous work being done by Frances in her Manx Note Book. What a treasure she is!
