Thanks again Eric. You certainly manage to cover some ground. There are a number of interesting points brought up by your information. One being that Alice Coulthard's death certificate says that she died on 28th April 1854 at 1 Court Mile End, Liverpool. James registered her death and was in attendance at this address. It almost looks as if the whole of the Coulthard clan turned up in Liverpool. Would a daughter's marriage record show her father's name? It doesn't appear on James or John's. I'm getting more and more confident that my Alice was Alice Fargher but I would love to manage to find a marriage record for her and William. My sister and I are planning a visit to the IOM within the next few weeks and I'm wondering what the chances are of us tracking it down at the records office. It is just like doing a jigsaw when some of your pieces are missing and then somehow you manage to find one but you never manage to complete the whole picture. Very frustrating.
