I would be really grateful if somebody could help me trace the family of my great, great, great, great grandmother, Alice Coulthard. She was born 1770 in the Isle of Man according to the 1851 Census when she was living in Liverpool, aged 81, with her son James. On her death certificate (1854) it states that she was the widow of William Coulthard, a joiner. I have not been able to find their marriage record and so do not know whether William was from the IOM. I am assuming they would have been married around 1800 - there son, James, was born in Cockermouth in 1806. I have found an ancestral file on Familysearch for a William Coulthard and Alice Fargher and the dates are close but it says Alice Farger died in Lancaster in 1846 so clearly not my Alice. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. My sister and I are hoping to visit IOM in the early Spring and desperately need some clues.
