Mary Ann CAIN, Full age, Spinster, Ramsey, [father] John Cain, Smith.

So you think their son Walter bapt Andreas 22 May 1853 was Thomas Arthur's father? He does seem to be the only possible Walter Goldsmith.

Mary was 33 in the 1861 census (b.c.1828), born Peel. Thomas was 43 Inn Keeper (Plow Inn) b.Bride.
In 1871 (Grosvenor Inn, Andreas) with their 7 children, Thomas is 52 and Mary A. 42 (b.c.1829), same birth places as given 1861.

IGI has an extracted bapt record for Mary Ann Cain 29 Jan.1826 Kirk German daur of John CAIN & Cath MC AVOY. Possible?
