Thank you for all the info that you have sent me re Eliza and her daughter. This would partly explain why she didn't turn up in the 1861 census. The other reason why she didn't turn up is that I access the censuses through Genes reunited, and I have had problems finding entries in the 1861 census in one of my other , Barraclough, lines. Any similar experiences or tips on how to rectify this problem? As Elizabeth didn't take any children with her to her marriage to Henry in Manchester, perhaps her daughter died at an early age.
