I couldn't see a marriage for them on the IGI, then again it is not complete, and I have ancestors who don't appear on it. I didn't see one on iomfhs, the website you referred to either. I did make a mistake by saying that Maud Cox on the 1901 was 23, she was in fact stated as being 21 (must be all this excitement of tracking a great granddad down).

As mentioned I have had a look for their marriage on the website manxbmd, but couldn't see one. Sue is this where you meant that you had looked?

There really are numerous marriages between a William Henry Cox and an Alison on freebmd, if only I could find out when they arrived on the Isle of Man, it may rule some of them out.

Thanks for looking to see if they were on the 1911 census as well. I did notice a death record for a William Henry Cox in 1910 aged 77, and I see that Frances has mentioned a burial of the same name and the comment regarding the age looks interesting, on the 1901 he was 60.

How would I go about checking whether it was him or not?
