According to Goodwin, the four Kermode children, John, George, Mary Ann and Jane, all lived to marry. The two boys married daughters of William Radcliffe of Peel, who might be in one of your Radcliffe files. Jane he gets wrong, for he says that she married first Peter Chandler, and secondly a Killip, with a child Alfred, who died (presumably in infancy).
James Killip, father of Alfred, is not with the family in 1861. Had he died too? No wonder little Alfred didn’t stand a chance. Presumably Sofia Killip’s father was a different son of James Killip, snr.
