simpler explanation re german register - the year headings were misinterpreted - there are some 20+ entries that are assigned to wrong year by the IGI - not an unusual occurance in other parishes as in some registers some year headings were added later to the original reg but entries in one year run in sequence 'over' headings - the key to sorting out the mess is to look at the original register and note the exact sequence of entries - once the igi has re-indexed by 'date' you are lost - the igi often mixes up private bapts and rececptions (this was certainly the case in German) - register sequence is usually by reception but sometimes the vicar has inserted a note re private bapt earlier in reg.
