Given the Martin Kenyon in Sue's reply is from Derby Road, Sand Street could by a mis-interpretation of 'Sandy Hill' the local name given to the road leading out of Ramsey from Derby Road towards Regaby/Andreas/Bride.

This would separate it from Strand Street in South Ramsey, the otherside of the river. Census records may confirm this
