I should also explain how I came to make enquiries re John Garrett and wife Ellen - I just this week transcribed the Will of Martin Kenyon dated 1860, the brother of Ellen Kennion/Kenyon, wherein it is indicated she was the widow of John Garrett. So Ellen did marry eventually, but did she also have an illegitimate daughter fathered by George Monk???
