Yes, I should have re-read the whole thread of messages rather than just homing in on 2 of them. The point I was trying to make was to do with the concept of two people transcribing the lists independently so that differences of opinion would trigger a further look, rather than one person thinking that complete accuracy could be achieved by his efforts alone.

It would be interesting to know what process of cross-checking Ancestry uses when so many errors slip through.
