Re: Manx Ancestry Centre
In Response To: Re: Manx Ancestry Centre ()

I have no problem recommending that one visit this beautiful gem of British geography...that from a Kiwi born/Aussie national/now Manx permanent resident.............whose Manx ancestry was part of the reason I am here.

Will the Manx Ancestry centre be what those afar wish.......only time will tell.....but lets be positive.......if one is genuine in researching, one will find one's way round all and any obstacle.,,
Flow positive, don't get caught up in the negative.......

I give you my example.... I first visited the IOM in 1980 when still living in NZ....(my great grandfather, William Qualtrough was born in Arbory and he, along with his parents and all but one of his siblings went to NZ in 1859)........I came here for three weeks to visit known rellies and seek more genealogical info............

As i left on my outbound flight, I said to myself "I would love to live here one day"....23 years later and after leaving NZ and living in Australia for 16 years, the opportunity arose for me to emigrate here....and now it is my home...and you know what? It was not till I had been here a year or so that I remembered the "promise" I made to myself all those years before.....so there you go......

Never say never..... and never give up..
