Re: Agnes Kelly--key piece in GICK/KELLY jigsaw ?

Ray, I'd be interested to see a transcription of the 1837 will of William Gick which doesn't appear to be on Brian Lawson's list.

However, I did find the1823 will of William Kelly, husband of Jane nee Gick:

Marown
This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of William Kelly of
Ballalonney in the parish of Kirk Marown who departed this life on 5th
day of January 1823 and published this to be his last will and testament
in manner following on the 4th day of January instant.
He committed his soul to Almighty God and his body to Christian burial.
He left and bequeathed to his children namely James Kelly the sum of one
shilling and unto Isabella, Jane, Anne, Agnus and Elizabeth Kelly the sum
of seven shillings each.
He the said testator nominated constituted and appointed his loving wife
Jane Kelly whole and sole executor of the whole or residuum of his goods and
effects moveable and immoveable be the same of what denomination so ever and
this the said testator published pronounced and declared to be his last will
and testament.
In our presence on the said day and date mentioned
As witness our subscription this the 8th day of January 1823.

executrix of the said will, but the said Jane Kelly declining the burthen

interested in the estate of the deceased hath decreed William Gick the

deceased, and he the said William Gick is thereupon sworn faithfully to
administer the same, with the said will annexed to exhibit a full and
perfect inventory of effects into the Episcopal Registry of this Diocese
to pay all just debts so far forth as goods will extend and the law bind
him and to render a faithful account of his proceedings in this
administration when lawfully required and to these ends he hath given
pledges in form of law namely Thomas Bridson and Charles Keggeen both

Decretum est T. Stephen

How sad that the children were orphans 2 years later when Jane died.

These MIs are from Manx Notebook, listed under Malew, but I believe that they may be buried in Old St Runius, Marown:

In memory of William Kelly of Ballaloney in this parish, who departed this life the 5th of January 1823, aged 38 years. Also in the memory of Ann, wife of James Hale and daughter of the above, who departed this life in the full triumph of the faith of the Gospel on the 24 day of March 1841, aged 25 years.

Jane Kelly alias Gick, wife of William Kelly, late of Ballalonney in this parish, who departed this life the 15 March 1825, aged 33 years. Also Elizabeth, daughter of the above, who died July 24, 1843, aged 22 years.

I think that Jane Gick's sister, Elizabeth b 1784, also married a William Kelly. Their daughter, Isabella, was baptised in 1818. And I don't think that they had an Agnes.
