It is much easier for everyone interested in your line if you "Post Response" to a previous message, rather than starting a new thread. (Respond to Ray, if your message is directed to him.)
Anyone new to the board, or if someone is trying to catch up with messages after having not looked at the board for a while, would be completely confused by the numerous Gick threads.

It doesn't matter if a message disappears from the bottom of the list, because a Response will bring it to the top again, and keep everything on the same topic together.
