The Book of Common Prayer was first translated 1610 but not published till 1765 & so your Cains that emigrated so
early will not have owned it but those that stayed in IOM will have been familiar with it. Late 18C copies are
available in specialist book shops here , sometimes , & can
be purchased for as little as £40 depending obviously on
their condition.
