Mrs Rosa It may interest you to know there is a long
decree from Bishop Wilson 1709 stating that the 16
families that live within the boundaries of his demesne
within Ballaugh must go to that church & not KMichael.
The vicar of that church had apparently been encouraging
them or permitting them ? to go to his church & he
says he has had "long & tedious controversies with him"
March 24th ---all 16 have conformed// I notice he does
not say obeyed--- . This may be relevant if the Gill was
in that area. It's very hard to find.
