MANY THANKS to ALL. That appears to have solved the mystery.
(Those census recorders had no thought for us researchers, did they, and the 1841 was so simple) (smile)
I never knew about a Brian Lawson transcription. I will try it. Maybe I will find answers to other puzzles. THANKS!
My big one is confirming that it was Jane Kelly's (nee Gick) husband William Kelly's, daughter Isabelle born in the IOM but who left for England and married a Joseph Clarkson. (believe in Lancashire).
Isabelle would have been born abt 1818. She would have married Joseph before wedding certs and the first census. Probably around the time of the birth of Jane (my g g grandmother) who would probably be their first child.
What I am trying to determine is that Isabelle's parents were William and Jane Kelly (nee Gick)
Jane died young (33) and her tombstone is as follows:-
" Jane Kelly alias Glick [?Gick], wife of William Kelly, late of Ballalonney in this parish, who departed this life the 15 March 1825, aged 33 years. Also Elizabeth, daughter of the above, who died July 24, 1843, aged 22 years. "
So anyone have an answer? You are all such
a mine of information. I am sure this gealogy site has no equal for such quick and ready help.
Fingers crossed - Thanks!
