Brian Lawson's burials have:
STARKEY, Gladys 71 Lez 16 Jan 1976

I think you will need to order James's birth cert., as Mary suggested. You can write to the Registrar by email. See http://www.gov.im/registries/general/civilregistry/
-And let us know what details you find there. It might be a good idea to ask for his parents' marriage cert as well, because it could have been later than Brian's index.
