The difference here is that the Isle of Man IS a country as is Italy. Cagliari is a city in Sardinia, much like Douglas is on the Isle, Lampedusa is in Italy, not a seperate country. I do not believe that it is an unfair question at all. In fact it is an excellent question worthy of introspection. There is a difference between being from the US and the Isle. I am an american, nothing more. Most of us here can claim a vast variety of ethnic descendants, so it is easiest to say american-the melting pot. Our news sources here erroneously call the Isle a part of England, they should know better. My friends who are from Douglas, have accents closer to English, than of the celtic counterparts of Ireland and Scotland. You are correct about perspective, I want to know what the good people of the Isle think.
