I thought i would post a response to this thread (that i started 18 years ago now, crazy eh?) So one of my cousins Lee Cregeen believes from research he did that our family show that Cregeen comes from Medieval Irish (County Donegal - as you have already mentioned in this thread), then to Isle of Mann, then Liverpool and across England. Just thought I would add an update :) btw I still live in New Zealand.
