just reviewing your birth date for Robert - the baptismal date I have in in Jan but your birth date is Feb - somewhat of a niggle here

I presume the date your gave for passenger manifest of 1885 is misquote for 1855

emigration in 1855 was usually a pull with the emigrant knowing the place and people who could help him - often a relative in area - was there any witness to marriage ?(how soon was this post emigration); any uncle etc mentioned in obit
