just looking to see why James might have taken the name Parker- any clues at all really. Yes he was in Australia but were there family links to Parkers on the IOM ?. David (D) found the fascinating news ad by a Mr Joseph Parker looking for his brother Henry, newly arrived in Sydney on James Radcliffe's ship the Crescent City. So there seems to have been another Parker on that ship ( even tho the captains list did not have that name ). one assumption was that James had jumped ship and just randomly changed his name to Parker, but this ad has really made a complex story even more extraoridnary. just looking for any clues
