As there have been many more newspapers listed on TROVE ( Australian Newspapers 1788 - 1954 , FREE !!) I had another look , and found this from the Sydney Morning Herald , Thursday, 30/3/1854 :

JOSEPH PARKER - If this should meet the eye of Joseph Parker , who came out last week by the Crescent City, he will hear of his brother Henry by addressing a letter to H.P. Herald Office.

As we had already noticed Mr Parker as a passenger on the C.C. and had assumed it was James , I think this ad blows that theory out of the water !!
