Hannah Sinclair was buried 12th February 1885 // 59years from Douglas . Her grave is labelled 972 if that makes any difference. You would assume a shared grave for two unrelated
people was indeed for paupers. However there is the mystery of the sale. Even if a family became rich that is the problem no headstone allowed. That said there are smart headstones
with family names only [3 or 4 ] for burials from Ballamona Hospital. I find this pleasing that the English plan was not followed here --I have heard of patients being buried in hospital
grounds. If there was a MI you would have had something to follow. I found a family member completely unknown to me when I visited a grave at Foxdale. A WW1 disabled man
had died in a terrible fire which destroyed his house. He must have told the vicar his grandparents were in church yard ---so no paperwork ,no birth cert. but vicar arranged burial --no
contact with any family .Mary
