Thanks Sue for your most interesting emails. I have come across it before where names have been changed to suit the person or for the name to sound more professional. I had thought that Thomas Lennox Seaton may have been illegitimate so decided to search. I found a Thomas Douglas born to Mary Douglas on 7th February 1863, illegitimate, at Irongray, Kirkcudbright, Scotland. Kirkcudbright is in the south western corner of Scotland, closest to the Isle of Man. This could be Thomas Lennox. I could not find a marriage for Mary Douglas to Duncan Seaton. Apparently, Paddy's wife's cousin who has the medals is not very co-operative in even taking a photo of the medals. Paddy is going to try again. Regards, Grace
