I recall another researcher having great difficulty with the Manx resident Douglas families

There is a margt douglas (age 22 in 1861) in Cronkbourne village [Tromode] irish born living with mother + step father Charles Corkill - fa a labourer others working in the'canvas mill' (ie Moore's sailcloth works) - usually the Irish were recruited from N Ireland and protestant - query if T L Seaton was illeg - usually boy sailors entered about 12 - there was a route for those from workhouses etc to enter -
