Mort here means mortgage - there are several pages of tipped in documents some labelled page 75 in Lib Canc 1669
eg dated 21Mar 1662;Charles Tubman(Malew) acks stands indebted to Jo Norris(Castletown) for 28s lent him for a horse which was bought to work his land - engages himself to pay sd John Norris at or before death of mother but until then pawns or mortgages a croft of land called Cubon's croft of 4d rent; Witt John Norris ;Charles x

and dated 12 Aug 1662;Charles Tubman + wife Jane ack indebted to John Norris(Castletown) for £5 11s wch Norris has paid at several times to the Moars + Sergeants and agree to give Norris possession after my mothers decease of half the sown close the houses of the whitestone haggart + garden and to keep the said Close haggart and houses + occupy same until such time I shall pay him; Witt John Norris, John Sante x; on reverse is a list of accounts of money lent to Charles by Norris - in one receipt Charles acks from 'brother' John Norris

then an unnumbered page of a transfer of land from Charles , wife Jane + son+heir Richd to bro-in-law John Norris (feltmaker Castletown, hatter in a later doc) dated 11 Mar 1667/8 which mentions that Charles had been in prison and that was unable to pay Lord's rents

there are several pages of Lib Canc concerning Charles which as yet I've not really looked at

Lib Canc is I think on film but I had to call out actual volume as fim not always that good
