The www.imuseum.im site has many fam hist records - once you have death/marriage dates from mid 19th C probably worthwhile buying a short term pass to search newspapers for BMD announcements etc.
Once you get pre 1800 then MI's start to give out and wills become more useful - catch with the Quayles of Glanmaye (see manxnotebook for small map etc) it is Barony land thus doing land searches more difficult but the Manx museum have tithe plans of 1841 which will show you the farm and its holdings - very small farm tho and probably now combined with others
