Just re reading your answer
The widow died 1769 and the son and heir at law [Daniel] died 1783.
The other son Stephen died the following year 1784.

Daniel's son and heir was Daniel jnr
Stephen's was Philip

So if there is a court case [in Lib Plit] that is where the results of the case would be recorded.
Hope that's correct - just setting it out to clear it in my mind [and hope for corrections if I've misinterpreted]
