My grandmother maiden name was Christian. I have gone back to a John Christian b. 1 NOV 1953 in New York. His father was Richard Christian d. in Putnam Valley, New York, USA 23 MAR 1815. The Christian family Bible say John's father was Buham (Handwritten) or Buhand (Typed) but the US census and other documents I have found say John's Father was named Richard. I am certain without much doubt the the lineage is correct until I get to Richard's birth.
Numerous people have serched and have found that ??? Richard ??? was born on IOM, Christened on 26 SEP 1726, son of John Christian and Averick Crain. Your Richard you said married in the 1760s. My Richard was married in the New World and had children by that date. Is it possilbe to shed any light on the discrepencies?
