Averil
I missed this note before. My old eyes have some difficulty trying to read these--maybe it is also I'm using a laptop now with smaller screen.
Anyway, I have the 1851 Douglas census so I can clearly see Robert and dau Jane
I also have the 1851 German census and see Joseph with JOHN Quiggin and Ann at Lhergy Dhoo
These appear to be John Quiggin and Ann Cowley
Margaret ch 04 SEP 1825 Braddan
Ann ch 25 DEC 1828 Braddan
I believe this is the older brother of Joseph's mother Elizabeth Quiggin i.e. uncle & aunt of Joseph
Their parents Thomas Quiggin & Ann Cannell are both gone by 1851--1837 and 1849
I can't read the 1861 census very well--do we know who Robert Quine 60 is?
A Joseph Cain md Mgt Maddrell 23 FEB 1868 Braddan--maybe related to Ann in the same household?
Have you run across the Robert/Eliz Cain(e) family in 1841?
Guess we're still unclear about a Robert Caine/Mgt Crowe duo--which Robt? which Mgt?
Good work on finding these folks in the censuses you posted.
As you know I've checked burial info re Robt and Eliz and haven't found any MIs for either and no burial for Robt
The 1886 will of Robert Cain--is this our same fellow? Lists Robt, Thos, Jos & Christian and wife Mgt.
Frustrating bunch!!
