St Lukes Baldwin is in Braddan parish & was a daughter church/ chapel of ease for parishioners up on the hills to save the journey down to Kirk Braddan church. On parish boundaries some
people would go to the nearest church & perhaps save themselves miles ,if they were permitted to do so by the Bishop. [You may remember long running discussions about tenants on the Bishop's
Demesne being compelled to worship at the correct church. ] Now Braddan Parish has 5? schools and many thousands living in the several , new estates & probably the largest congregation in IOM &
so the Vicar [Dean] is hard pressed as also CE chaplain at Noble's Hospital. Marown population is smaller & therefore St Luke's is now in that CHURCH parish to share out the work.
