and who assisted in establishing American Independence
I was born in St. Mathews County of Orangeburg now Calhoun
State of South Carolina on the 6 day of Jan 1874
(1) I am the son of William Pinckney Cain born 1843 died 1895 and
his wife Adella Serena Clark born 1853 died 1893 married 1873
(2) grandson of Nathaniel Cain and
his 1st wife Olivia Robinson
(3) great-grandson of John Cain........born abt 1760 and
his 1st wife Sarah Lott
(4) great-great-grandson of Patrick Cain (Jr) born abt 1738 died 1781 and
his wife Mary Griffin
and he, the said Patrick Cain, Jr. (No 4) is the ancestor who assisted in
establishing American Independence, while acting in the capacity of private in
Provincial Army –
