I think we'll have to be careful with these new records which I'd hoped were going to be more accurate than before. I started checking my Prestons to see if there were any entries I didn't have and found that there were a few children with the middle name of 'Preston' who had been given it as a surname. I know the parents married so it wasn't a case of the child being given the mother's name. I've given up in disgust but will return to it soon, I'm sure.

One thing I also noticed was that some entries are marked as 'Other' with no details. I think, on the evidence of the ones I've seen that these might be illegitimate births, but they could also be rough dates calculated from death records, as the Mormons have done in the past. I need to do some more checking. So, take care!
